Constrained stabilisation emissions pathways
8 décembre 2008
The study considers global emissions constrained by an IPCC scenario (below 2°C) and ways of reaching stabilisation by lowering per capita emissions on different paths. Significant cuts in the global greenhouse gas emissions are needed to meet the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. That will require enhanced climate change mitigation actions in both developed and developing countries. The two indicators GHG emissions per capita and GDP per capita are applied to differentiate participation in such mitigation action among 16 groups of countries, developed and developing, established on geographical and economic development criteria.
