Structural Transformation Processes Towards Sustainable Development.
28 août 2003
A reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions down to levels that are sustainable from a climate change perspective is unlikely to be achieved unless structural transformations take place in the economies of the North and the South. This study funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (1994 to 1996) and SDC (since 1996) contributes to the assessment of such long-term transformation processes in India and Switzerland. The study emphasises the significance of a transformation approach to sustainability that is balanced in its social, economic and environmental dimensions.
