Broadband usage of small businesses

Feb. 11, 2013
On behalf of the Swiss Federal Office for Communication (BAKOM) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), INFRAS has carried out a qualitative study and examined the usage of broadband by small businesses. The results show that most of the small businesses in Switzerland, both in rural and urban regions, are equipped with broadband connection and often use certain applications such as for example e-mail and internet. At this point of time, however, the main difficulty for the businesses is not the availability of broadband infrastructure but the access to the according knowledge and know-how in order to achieve optimal internet usage.
