Climate Change Adaptation in Swiss Cantons

March 13, 2012
The awareness in Switzerland regarding climate change adaptation is increasing. The Swiss Federation has just adopted a Federal climate change adaptation strategy. Several Cantons have also started to develop strategies and measures to face climate change adaptation. Hence, there was a need to exchange information and experiences and to discuss the collaboration and coordination between the Cantons and the Federal government. The Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) in collaboration with the conference of the directors of the cantonal environmental departments therefore hosted an information and experience exchange on Cantonal and Federal level. INFRAS on behalf of FOEN has developed the concept, organised and chaired the event.
