Economic dimensions in Environmental Policy

The Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forest and Landscape SAEFL published on 12 August 2005 research papers with regard to the connection between environmental protection and economy. INFRAS was a direct contributor to two studies. The study “Impacts of environmental protection on GDP, employment and industry” was drafted in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research. The study “Consistent Implementation of the Polluter Pays Principle” was worked out together with econcept. Both studies conclude that environmental protection creates jobs and they illustrate where the polluter pays principle has already been implemented in Switzerland and where it hasn't.
