Within the last years the European Union developed a set of new regulations concerning Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO)in agriculture. There are also many new things happening in the countries of the Lake of Constance region. But what about the release of GMO in this region? What are the valid laws/regulations and current topics on GMO? The Commission Environment of the International Lake of Constance Conference (IBK-U: Kommission Umwelt der Internationalen Bodenseekonferenz) gave the assignment to the working group agriculture/environmental protection to summarise the GMO topic in agriculture, specifically for the Lake of Constance region.
