In this pilot project the allocation of greenhouse gas allowances according to the rules of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme from 2013 have been determined. The results will feed into the law-making process for the design of the new Swiss CO2-law from 2013. The new law introduces elements of emissions trading in Switzerland and enables a linking of the Swiss ETS with the EU-ETs.
