Workshop: Action plan climate change adaptation

Aug. 7, 2013
There is an increasing awareness in Switzerland on climate change adaptation. The Swiss Federation has adopted a federal climate change adaptation strategy in March 2012. Under the direction of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) the corresponding action plan on climate change adaptation is currently being developed. Most of the proposed measures affect the cantons in the end and need to be jointly implemented by cantons and the federal government. Hence, there was a need to include the cantons into the drafting process and seek feedback on the proposed measures. The FOEN therefore hosted a workshop on cantonal and federal level. Representatives from 17 cantons participated in the workshop. INFRAS on behalf of FOEN has developed the concept and has organised and chaired the event.
