WTO procurement of emission reduction certificates

Based on the RUMBA programme (resource and environmental management within the federal administration), emissions from internal administration activties are being compiled. In the past years, parts of these emissions (mainly in service air travel) have been individually compensated by the different departments . This happened by buying emission reduction certificates from projects abroad and in Switzerland. This procurement has now been centralised and conducted according to a WTO call for tender process. INFRAS as part of the supporting group of this procurement provided advice to the Federal administration with regard to the selection of projects, structuring and closing of the transactions of emission reduction certificates with highly sustainable assets.
