Kristina Zumbusch

PhD in Political Science, Grad. Eng. in Spatial Development Associate Partner

Kristina Zumbusch works in the Economy and Society division of INFRAS. Her areas of expertise include regional and economic policies, regional economic development, as well as governance and organisational development. She has extensive experience in regional economic analyses, the development of regional strategies, and the evaluation and impact assessment of programmes, organisations, and policy interventions.

Kristina Zumbusch studied Spatial Planning and Regional Development at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) and obtained her PhD from TU Dortmund University on the topic of regional governance in industrial regions. Before joining INFRAS, she worked at the Institute for Systemic Management and Public Governance (IMP-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen from 2009 to 2026, serving as Deputy Director from 2015 onwards. There, she led numerous projects in the field of local and regional economic development. Prior to that, she worked in Graz (convelop gmbh and the Institute for Technology and Regional Policy at JOANNEUM RESEARCH) and in Vienna.
