Raphael Grässli works in the thematic area of traffic planning, with focus on demand and analysis of critical points, aggregate traffic concepts, and supply planning in passenger and freight traffic.

He studied traffic systems at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. In his bachelor thesis, he examined, together with the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, the effects of a total blockage of the Lötschberg base tunnel. During his studies, he completed an internship at Stadler Service AG. Following his studies, he supported the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment in the assessment of actual building projects from the standpoint of nature and landscape protection.
