Estimation of demand of extra-familial day care for preschoolers

Today, the demand for extrafamilial day care offers for preschoolers in Switzerland is only covered by about 40%. According to a study supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, there is a lack of about 50,000 places in day care centers or in day care families. A simulation model shows that the demand might increase significantly in the next ten years. The scientific report will be published in book form in November by Haupt Edition.
