Preventive measures against addictive gambling have to reach those persons who are particularly endangered. The research study conducted by INFRAS is focussed mainly on those persons who use the gambling offers on the homepage of Swisslos. The results show that the gambling behaviour of 95% of the online gamblers using the offer on www.swisslos.ch is of a low-risk manner. The most favoured offers on the homepage are the lotteries Swiss Lotto and Euro Millions. It turned out that 4% of the questioned persons gamble risky and 1% in a problematic manner i.e. they belong to the high risk group of gamblers. Furthermore, it also became obvious that online gamblers between the age of 18 and 29 are the most endangered. Consequently, it is important that preventive measures are increasingly placed on the internet as especially young adults spend a lot of time online.
