With the renewal of its Action Plan for Adaptation, the German Federal Government aims to further strengthen the country's climate resilience. To design the ensemble of various policy instruments as effectively as possible, the Federal Environment Agency has carried out an ex-ante assessment with the support of INFRAS.

The Danube region is one of the most climate-vulnerable regions in Europe. The international TiCCA4DANU project aims to use transformative innovation policy to bring climate change adaptation to the region in a systemic and equitable way. It thinks local - and European at the same time. INFRAS is part of the project team.

How much is the Emissions Trading System (ETS) helping to reduce Switzerland's greenhouse gas emissions? How do the incentives affect participating companies? INFRAS was commissioned by the Swiss government to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of this pillar of Swiss climate policy.

The effects of climate change, environmental degradation and natural disasters hit countries in the Global South particularly hard – and pose major challenges for development cooperation. INFRAS has been supporting the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) with its expertise in climate and environmental issues since 2015.

A needs analysisshows what the charging network should look like, where the optimal charging locations are - and how the municipality can go about implementing it.

Artificial intelligence consumes a lot of electricity. What if AI data centres move to countries where the price of electricity is lower - because of a lower CO2 price? On behalf of the German Federal Environment Agency, INFRAS has made a first assessment of the global potential of such carbon leakage.

The Eurostat report monitors the European Union's progress towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It provides an annual overview of the EU, individual member states and other countries such as Switzerland. INFRAS also contributed to the 2025 report.

Increasing heat, summer droughts, changing natural hazards and impaired ecosystems: The updated climate risk analysis shows how climate change will affect Switzerland and to what extent this will also depend on non-climatic developments. INFRAS conducted the analysis on behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment.

What are the external and infrastructure costs of the transport sector? To what extent have EU member states and other selected countries internalised these costs? The European Commission has mandated an international research consortium, including INFRAS, to investigate these questions.
