Rolf Iten heads the subject fields economic policy and energy. He primarily focuses on macroeconomic analyses of economic policy measures, regulatory policy, market-based instruments in the fields energy and environment and on sustainable investments. He has been a manager of national and international projects in the areas energy, environment as well as social economic policy and general economic policy since 1991. Furthermore, since 2001, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Inrate AG, a sustainability rating agency based in Fribourg (CH). In connection with the CAS programme Renewable Energies and Future Energy Supply, he is a lecturer at the Technical University Rapperswil (CH).
He studied Economics at the University of Zurich (CH). Subsequently, he worked for the unit for economic matters at the Department of Finance of the Canton of Aargau (CH). Later, he was a research assistant at the Socioeconomic Institute of the University of Zurich and did his Doctoral thesis on «economic valuation of change in the environmental quality».
